Jaime Spilken
Learn and Serve Program Officer
Jaime Spilken is currently serving as the Learn and Serve America program officer working to promote service-learning and encourage an ethic of service among DC youth. She is managing Serve DC’s portfolio of Learn and Serve America school-based sub-grantees. Previously Jaime served as the Serve DC Learn and Serve intern. In this position she assisted with the summer grant competitions and outreach for Learn and Serve America. Prior to joining Serve DC, Jaime served as an intern with the Corporation for National and Community Service where she helped to advance the Corporation’s Strategic Initiative to engage five million college students in service by 2010 and have service-learning in 50 percent of K-12 school’s curriculum. Jaime received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services from the George Washington University in Washington, DC and is currently seeking a masters degree in public administration with a concentration in project and financial management from GW. Jaime comes to DC from New Jersey, and remains passionate about service-learning and is committed to finding a way for students in DC to connect classroom learning to solve their community’s problems, and in turn become more engaged in school. |
