Candace Morgan
Citizen Corps Program Assistant

Candace Morgan serves as the DC Citizens Corps Commander Ready Program Assistant. She comes to Serve DC straight from the DC Public Schools, having served as a classroom teacher for two years. She is a graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. In addition to teaching locally, she served with the Children’s Defense Fund in Washington, DC as a trainer for Freedom Schools nationally. While there she helped prepare college leader interns to work with children and excite them about reading.

Candace has used her Communications background to advance the voice of service through media and outreach events. She is currently enrolled in George Washington University’s Event Management Program which is guiding her to use her gifts and skills for service she is passionate about. Candace enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
