Sandra Schlicker Renfro, PhD  Office of the State Superintendent of Education Sandy Schlicker was sworn in as a Commissioner in July, 2005. She is the Director of Wellness and Nutrition Services in the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) for the District of Columbia Government. In this position Dr. Schlicker oversees the administration of the USDA funded National School Lunch, Breakfast and Afterschool Snack Programs, the Summer Food Service Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Commodity Food Distribution Programs. In addition, she oversees the CDC funded Youth Risk Behavior Survey and the HIV/AIDs education program. Prior to joining OSSE in 2008, Dr. Schlicker was the Executive Director of the American Society for Clinical Nutrition, and prior to that she served as a Senior Program Officer with the Food and Nutrition Board at the Institute of Medicine. Dr. Schlicker holds a BS in Science and an MS and PhD in Food and Nutrition from The Pennsylvania State University.
