Dyonicia Brown
   Dy Brown
Communications and Outreach Director

Dyonicia "Dy" Brown serves as Communications and Outreach Director for Serve DC. She is the creative force behind all marketing and advertising for the organization. She also spends time focusing on community outreach, episodic volunteering, and strengthening partnerships. Previous to this position, she worked as the Special Assistant to the Executive Director. In this position, she created a quarterly newsletter and did an overall organizational assessment. Before joining the public sector, she worked with Philip Morris USA, an Altria Company, in the outreach division. During her time there, she worked with the community and trained members of the section sales department.

Dy received her MSA in organizational development from Trinity University in Washington, DC. Dy is also a graduate of Howard University, where she received her undergraduate degree in marketing, with a focus on international business. Her professional and personal background is embedded in a commitment to public service, volunteerism and leadership development. She currently volunteers as a graduate advisor for a collegiate business fraternity, social chair for her alumni board, and is a member of Junior League of Washington. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, writing blogs and the arts. She is a native of Baton Rouge, and currently resides in Ward 5.
