DC AmeriCorps Leadership Council

Overview of the DC AmeriCorps Leadership Council:

Serve DC sponsors the DC AmeriCorps Leadership Council (ACLC), which in comprised of current AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Alums in the DC area. In January 2009, the DC InterCorps Council and the DC chapter of AmeriCorps Alums merged to form the ACLC. The Council aims to create a network of AmeriCorps Alums and AmeriCorps members in the DC area and provide them with support and opportunities for personal development.

Each AmeriCorps program in the District of Columbia may nominate two AmeriCorps members to serve on the ACLC as ambassadors. Alums are also welcome to serve on the Council as ambassadors. Ambassadors must attend monthly ACLC meetings, which are held the first Wednesday of each month. Other responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the coordination of the annual DC Conference on Service and Leadership in partnership with Serve DC.
  • Developing a service project for All Corps Service Day which engages AmeriCorps members across the District of Columbia during AmeriCorps Week.
  • Coordinating member social events throughout the service year.

For more information on the DC InterCorps Council, please call or email Jason Hanser at (202) 724-2229.
